  • About the Artist:

Based in Annapolis, Maryland, I have been to over 50 countries and my photography is closely linked to my travels. I've had a lot of opportunities to exercise my interest by virtue of having lived in both the Netherlands and Hawaii, both exceptionally photogenic places. In my travels I try to capture a sense of place as well those evocative moments that form our strongest memories, from landscapes to candid street portraits.

For the past five years I've been variously President and Vice President of the Digital Photography Club of Annapolis. I'm on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) and a member of the Annapolis Arts Alliance. My photos have won awards (e.g., the Washington Post travel photography contest) and at any given moment I usually have something hanging in a few venues around the Washington DC area, e.g., at Baltimore Washington International Airport, the Maryland State House, and at various galleries in and around Annapolis.

    • Looking Down: Drone Photography

      Description:

Drones are seemingly everywhere these days, and even some of the modestly-priced ones carry sophisticated cameras and employ advanced flying technology. In this workshop, you’ll learn about the many makes and models of drones, their price ranges and capabilities, the rules and regulations of flying them, and how to best use your drone to take dramatic aerial landscapes and action videos.

The in-person program includes a live flight and photography demo. Students may bring their own drones to class to compare with the model flown by the instructor. The session also includes a photography editing tutorial that teaches students editing techiniques to make their photos "pop" more dramatically.
