Featured AAC Artist Series: Kay Fuller

The Arts Council Virtual Art Gallery Series Featuring AAC Artist: Kay Fuller

Education: University of Maryland, Health Services Administration

Statement of Purpose: Kay lives to create art to bring joy to the viewer. Watercolor is my medium of choice, but I thoroughly enjoy acrylics and collage. She is always open to learning new ways to express my passion.

Kay describes herself as a cactus flower when it comes to art. She did not pick up a paintbrush until she was eligible for Social Security, but once introduced to watercolor painting, it became her passion. Her first painting workshop by Janice Beck was part of a vacation in Provence in 2005. Subsequently, she has taken classes by David Daniels, Gina Clapp, Michelle Hoben, Rachael Collins, Steve Fleming, Jackie Saunders, Susan Herron, Mary Todd Beam, Marni Marie, Myrna Wacknov, Carrie Burns Brown, Frederick Graff, John Salminen, Carla O’Connor, Marsha Staiger, Linda Baker, Pat Dews, Joan Fullerton and Kathleen Conover.

Kay’s works have been accepted in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Her recent awards include:
