About

The Galleries of Quiet Waters Park will bring two exhibits to the public starting on March 27 with the Reception on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Lars Westby will have his non-objective paintings and ceramics in the Willow Gallery while Matt Fenton and Tommy Roberts will have their oils, watercolors, and pastels in the Garden Gallery.

Lars’ exhibit represents his “Recent Work.” Ceramics has been his main objective for years while the paintings are quite new. The Ceramic work is about utilitarian objects that are used for work. Art/Craft/Function and the makers hand create these objects. The paintings are highly textured and speak of paint as the subject of the painting itself. They include the high relief “Stalactite Series” and the “Droplet Series.”

Tommy Roberts and Matt Fenton, two artists who have been painting in Baltimore for decades, have come together for a joint exhibit at Quiet Waters. Tommy has specialized in jazz, dancers, and horses and is known for his use of color. Matt has been depicting beautiful landscapes in Maryland and beyond in oil and watercolor. Their styles are realistic with Impressionistic brush strokes.

The Quiet Waters Visitor Center which holds the Galleries is open from 9 AM – 4 PM on weekdays and 10 AM – 4 PM on weekends. The Receptions in both Galleries will be on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 1:30 to 3:30. Admission to the park is $6 per vehicle. The fee is waived for the Reception only.
