Jo Fleming Contemporary Art is delighted to feature 4 regional artists working in Contemporary Still Life”: John Petr, Jodi Ferrier, Edmond Praybe and Cindy Winnick with 4 interpretations.
John Petr lives in Southern Maryland, nestled between the Chesapeake Bay, Potomac River His paintings are large close investigations of implements used by fisherman and oysterman. Decidedly masculine, these paintings depict the joy of fishing with his children along the creeks of his rural community.
Jodi Ferrier
DC area artist might be inspired by the simple shapes created between still objects on a table. She strives to capture the emotional resonance she experiences when observing the moment. Her brush strokes are energetic and lively, her paintings whimsical and relaxed.
Edmund Praybe
Acclaimed local artist whose contemporary still-life paintings include careful arrangements of everyday objects in intimate collections inviting the viewer to ponder the objects as well as the presence of an inherent scenario.
Cindy Winnick
is a versatile Annapolis artist whose paintings are modest in scale, intimate and earthy in coloration reminiscent of masterful work of the French Impressionists.
