Opening Reception: Abjection and Alienation: Video Works of Martha Rosler and Pipilotti Rist (in the Videodrome)

April 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

This exhibition presents two video works: “Vital Statistics of a Citizen, Simply Obtained” (1977) by New York-based Martha Rosler, and “Blutclip” (1993) by Zürich-based Pipilotti Rist. Both notably explore the lives of women, challenge societal treatment of their bodies, and critique political structures of injustice. Through seeing their work in communion, we might better understand what it feels like to be separated from a sense of humanity and, by contrast, what it could mean to become whole again.

Admission, Parking, & Accessibility

The event is free. Complimentary parking is available in both the Edensword and Mellon Parking Lots off of St. John’s Street. Accessibility parking spots can be found in the Edensword Lot.
