¡Viva la Música! A Night of Fire & Flair, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrates the vibrant musical traditions of the Americas.

The program features the infectious energy of American composer George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture and American composer Leonard Bernstein’s electrifying Symphonic Dances from “West Side Story” to the spirited sounds of Spanish composer Óscar Navarro’s Paconchita. The audience will be swept away by the haunting beauty of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos’s Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, the fiery folk-inspired dances from Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera’s Estancia, the exhilarating finale of Mexican composer Arturo Márquez’s Conga del Fuego Nuevo, and the tender bolero of Cuban composer Luis Hernández Alfonso, Si Tú Me Faltaras. Perfect for music lovers of all ages, this colorful program promises an evening of excitement, warmth, and irresistible rhythm.

Acclaimed soprano Colleen Daly will interpret several of the works.

“We are delighted to feature these diverse works whose emotional tones resonate with all audiences,” said Naptown Philharmonic Music Director/Conductor Dr. Anna Binneweg. “These distinctive musical traditions serve to bring our audience closer in recognition and celebration of the beautiful mosaic that is our community.”

A complimentary spirited reception in Maryland Hall will follow the performance. All concert audience members are invited.

This concert marks the premiere of the Naptown Philharmonic’s 2026-2027 season, themed A Season of Song & Story. The performances will transport the audience to many delightful places through unforgettable classical masterworks and contemporary classics from stage and screen.
