FROM CANNES TO ANNAPOLIS: A24’S CLUB KID COMES
TO THE ANNAPOLIS FILM SOCIETY NOVEMBER 2, 2026
Jordan Firstman’s acclaimed feature directorial debut brings New York nightlife,
unexpected fatherhood, and an unforgettable new family story* to Maryland Hall.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Fresh from a celebrated debut at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and a high-profile
acquisition by A24, CLUB KID is coming to Annapolis for a special Annapolis Film Society screening on
Monday, November 2, 2026, at the Main Auditorium at Maryland Hall, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis.
Doors open at 6:30 PM and the film begins at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20 and available online. Seating is
general admission and first-come, first-served. A cash-only rush line will be available at the door for any
remaining seats.
Written, directed by, and starring Jordan Firstman, CLUB KID marks Firstman’s feature directorial debut
and arrives in Annapolis ahead of its November theatrical release. The film premiered at Cannes to
critical acclaim before being acquired by A24.
A Wild Nightlife Meets an Unexpected Wake-Up Call
CLUB KID follows Peter (Firstman), a hard-partying New York City club promoter whose whirlwind
existence is suddenly upended when the 10-year-old son he never knew he had arrives in his life. CLUB
KID – Press Notes
Peter has spent a decade immersed in blurry New York nights alongside his business partner Sophie,
played by Cara Delevingne, and an eclectic entourage drawn from the city’s actual club scene. But when
young Arlo (Reggie Absolom) unexpectedly enters his life, Peter finds himself completely unprepared for
parenthood—and suddenly responsible for someone other than himself. Diego Calva (Babylon) co-stars
as Oscar, a social worker who helps father and son navigate their new reality.
What begins amid the pulsating energy and excess of New York nightlife evolves into something much
more surprising: a funny, bittersweet, and deeply human story about growing up—no matter how old
you happen to be—and about the many forms a family can take.
Following its Cannes debut, the film sparked a bidding war, with its combination of humor, heart, and an
authentic portrayal of contemporary New York nightlife helping it emerge as one of the festival’s
talked-about discoveries. The production was filmed on location in New York and combines established
performers with real members of the city’s club community.
The cast also includes Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Colleen Camp, Miss Benny, Saturn Risin9, Alaska Riley,
Vicki Pepperdine, Nigil Whyte, and Eldar Isgandarov.
Behind the camera is an equally notable team. CLUB KID was produced by Academy Award-winning
Anora producer Alex Coco, Galen Core, Michael Bloom, and Ryan Heller, with cinematography by
Emmy-winning cinematographer Adam Newport-Berra.
See It in Annapolis Before Its Theatrical Release
The Annapolis Film Society specializes in bringing audiences new and noteworthy films while they are
still making waves on the festival circuit and before many reach theaters or streaming platforms. CLUB
KID is exactly that kind of discovery—a Cannes breakout from one of independent cinema’s most
recognizable distributors, A24, presented on the big screen for the Annapolis community.
