Siren Theatre Collective is dedicated to creating transformative theatrical experiences that strengthen community engagement, cultivate empathy, and inspire meaningful dialogue in Anne Arundel County, MD.

Founded by a group of artists, advocates, and community leaders, Siren Theatre Collective seeks to produce
compelling theatrical work while fostering spaces where artists and audiences can gather in curiosity and
belonging.

Inspired by the mythic Greek sirens—whose voices were said to be impossible to ignore—the company
embraces theatre as both an artistic practice and a vehicle for community engagement. Through productions,
educational programs, artist development initiatives, and collaborative partnerships, Siren Theatre Collective
aims to amplify diverse voices and create opportunities for meaningful civic and cultural conversation.

“At a time when many people are experiencing isolation, division, and uncertainty, we believe theatre offers
something essential,” said Robin Schwartz, Founding Member & Artistic Director. “Storytelling helps us
understand ourselves and one another. Our goal is to create artistic experiences that spark imagination,
deepen empathy, and strengthen the bonds that make communities thrive.”

Siren is committed to accessibility, inclusion, and artistic excellence. The organization will prioritize
programming that welcomes audiences and artists from diverse backgrounds while creating opportunities
for meaningful participation both onstage and off.

In addition to theatrical productions, the company plans to develop partnerships with schools, community
organizations, healthcare providers, and local businesses to expand access to arts experiences and explore
innovative approaches to community wellness and engagement.

“We envision Siren as more than a theatre company,” said Founding Member & President Jennifer Cooper.
“We see it as a gathering place where people can connect through creativity, dialogue, and shared experience.
We are excited to collaborate with community partners who share our commitment to belonging,
compassion, and civic engagement.”

As the organization begins its inaugural year, Siren Theatre Collective invites community members, artists,
volunteers, donors, and potential partners to help shape its future.
