FY2027 Public Art Across Maryland grant programs are now open for applications

n in prior years, I am reaching out directly to artists, arts organizations, and prior applicants and awardees to ensure you are aware of this opportunity.

If you or someone in your network is interested in applying for funding this year, please share this time, read through the information below,  and reach out if you have any questions.

• Conservation Grants: Support maintenance, conservation, and relocation projects that maintain or improve the public's access and appreciation of existing public artworks. (Up to $30,000, no match required)
• New Artworks Grants: Support the creation and installation of new and original local public art projects led by Maryland artists. (Up to $30,000, no match required)

Application Deadline: August 21, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

- Timeline: Only one grant cycle is occurring.

- Grant Types: Only project grants are being accepted in FY27 (no planning grants).

- Lead Artist Eligibility: A lead artist may only be named in one application per fiscal year.

While I acknowledge this is an expedited timeline to prepare a full project grant application, we hope that opening the program earlier in the fiscal year is welcome news for applicants who have project applications ready to go, including those who may have been declined funding in recent years.
