Description

n in prior years, I am reaching out directly to artists, arts organizations, and prior applicants and awardees to ensure you are aware of this opportunity.
If you or someone in your network is interested in applying for funding this year, please share this time, read through the information below,  and reach out if you have any questions.
Public Art Across Maryland Grant Types:
  • Conservation Grants: Support maintenance, conservation, and relocation projects that maintain or improve the public's access and appreciation of existing public artworks. (Up to $30,000, no match required)
  • New Artworks Grants: Support the creation and installation of new and original local public art projects led by Maryland artists. (Up to $30,000, no match required)
Follow the links above to find the grant guidelines for each program (also attached).
You can find a recording of the FY2027 Public Art Across Maryland Grant Info Session here.
Application Deadline: August 21, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
Important Updates for FY2027:
- Timeline: Only one grant cycle is occurring.
- Grant Types: Only project grants are being accepted in FY27 (no planning grants).
- Lead Artist Eligibility: A lead artist may only be named in one application per fiscal year.
Please see the grant guidelines or info session recording for an explanation of these updates.
While I acknowledge this is an expedited timeline to prepare a full project grant application, we hope that opening the program earlier in the fiscal year is welcome news for applicants who have project applications ready to go, including those who may have been declined funding in recent years.
Staff is available to provide technical support in preparing your application. After you have read through the grant guidelines, you are encouraged to schedule a time to talk through any questions about your project grant application. This link shows my availability and will allow you to book a video or phone call on my schedule.
Thank you for sharing your inspiring artwork with our State. I look forward to speaking with you or reviewing your grant application soon.
