Performers should love physical comedy\, character work\, and engaging the audience\, and enjoying the challenge of bringing Shakespeare to life with irreverent humor.\n\nContent Note for Performers:This production includes occasional mature humor\, suggestive language\, and playful irreverence toward classic texts. Performers should be comfortable delivering comedic material that may include sexual innuendo\, mild language\, violence\, and direct audience interaction.\n\nAUDITION INFORMATIONAuditions will consist of a prepared 1-2 minute modern comedic monologue\, followed by cold readings of sonnets.Please bring:A completed audition form1-2 minute comedic monologueHeadshot or recent photo attached to audition formProvide a list of conflicts beginning on March 22 and through June 14. Conflicts cannot be accommodated after the schedule is finalized.\n\nCASTING NOTESCasting performers ages 16+All roles are open and unpaidPTC encourages actors of all races\, ethnicities\, gender identities\, ages\, abilities\, and backgrounds to participate.\n\nSHOW SYNOPSISThe Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) is a wildly fast-paced comedy that takes on all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays—plus the sonnets—in a single\, uproarious performance. Using only a handful of actors\, minimal props\, and maximum imagination\, the show barrels through tragedies\, comedies\, and histories with physical comedy\, pop-culture riffs\, audience interaction\, and gleeful theatrical chaos. Equal parts parody and love letter to Shakespeare\, the play celebrates the Bard by making his work accessible\, ridiculous\, and irresistibly fun for actors and audiences alike.\n\nCHARACTER BREAKDOWNTraditionally performed by three actors\, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) may be expanded to a larger ensemble. An expanded cast allows for greater physical comedy\, shared monologues\, and increased opportunities for audience interaction.
