The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County seeks to honor individuals who have contributed their time and talents to Arts and Historic Preservation in the county with the annual Annie Awards. One of this year’s Annie winners 2017, is Wallace Treiber.
Tis the season to celebrate the holidays with the ARTS. Our county has so much to offer in the way of entertainment, you don’t have to travel far to find a wonderful play, musical, symphony or art exhibit to enjoy. If you are looking for that special gift to give, a pair of tickets or a season subscription to the performances of one of the many performing arts groups or a membership in one of the County Historic preservation organizations is a great way to support our artists and shop local!

Annapolis Symphony Orchestra Presents “Christmas Fiesta with Sultans of String”
On Friday December 16, at 8:00pm, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, under the musical direction of José-Luis Novo, performs our Holiday Pops concert, entitled Christmas Fiesta with Sultans of String, at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. BABES in TOYLAND presented by West Arundel Creative Arts is playing weekends through December 18th at the Nichols-Bethel UM CHurch at 1239 Murray Road in Odenton. Afternoon performances make this a great event for younger children and you can purchase tickets at WACArts.com.
At the Compass Rose Theater, enjoy the class musical ‘CAMELOT” playing through January 22nd. The Compass Rose is located in the Annapolis Arts & Entertainment District at 49 Spa Road, www.compassrosetheater.org.
Many musicians will be performing in downtown Annapolis during MIDNIGHT MADNESS on Thursday December 15th. While you are downtown, look for Art in Public Places. There are several murals and large photographs on buildings to admire around the city in addition to traditional statues and handsome historic structures that include our State Capital, Hammond Harwood House and Wiliiam Paca House.
