DESCRIPTION:Before Jonas and Anne Catharine Hoof Green\, there was William and Dinah Nuthead\, Maryland’s first printing duo. William Nuthead was the first printer in Maryland and the first to operate a press in Virginia\, establishing his business in St. Mary’s City in 1685 after being barred from printing in Virginia by the colonial government. Following his death in 1695\, his widow Dinah Nuthead took over the business and became the first licensed female printer in the American colonies. Visitors with limited mobility can access the brick Paca Garden Terrace via the driveway of the Paca House. A single use accessible restroom can be accessed by a ramp. The upper portion of the garden can be accessed via a ramp with handrails\, but please note that garden pathways are loose pea gravel and steps must be traversed to access the lower levels of the garden.  \n\n \nHogshead Trades Museum \n43 Pinkney Street\, Annapolis\, MD 21401 \nWelcome yule at “Hogshead Tavern” on Pinkney Street for festive fun with live colonial music\, sweet treats and warm spiced cider.
