DESCRIPTION:Have a digital camera but don’t know how to use it? Want to brush up on your photography skills? Join photographer Kaitlyn McQuaid for “First Exposure\,” a 4-week digital photography workshop covering the foundations of photography. This workshop will run for 2 hours each week\, and we’ll cover one element of photography in-depth\, including Aperture\, ISO\, Shutter Speed\, Lighting\, and Composition. We’ll practice with in-class\, hands-on exercises\, and tips for capturing moments on your own outside of class. \n\nNOTES\n\nYou will receive an email 1 week before class starts with additional information. \n\n\n\nClass Requirements\n\n\n\n\nA digital DSLR camera is strongly recommended\, but if you only have a sophisticated point-and-shoot\, we are happy to have you as well. Just be mindful that some point-and-shoots don’t always let you adjust as many settings. With this in mind\, please check in with us if you have something different so our Instructor can see what kind of digital camera you have before the workshop starts.\n\n\n\n\n\nOther Things To Know\n\n\n\nCancellation\n\n\nDue to the small size of our classes and the planning required\, we are not able to issue refunds for missed classes. DESCRIPTION:Have a digital camera but don’t know how to use it? Want to brush up on your photography skills? Join photographer Kaitlyn McQuaid for “First Exposure\,” a 4-week digital photography workshop covering the foundations of photography. This workshop will run for 2 hours each week\, and we’ll cover one element of photography in-depth\, including Aperture\, ISO\, Shutter Speed\, Lighting\, and Composition. We’ll practice with in-class\, hands-on exercises\, and tips for capturing moments on your own outside of class. \n\nNOTES\n\nYou will receive an email 1 week before class starts with additional information. \n\n\n\nClass Requirements\n\n\n\n\nA digital DSLR camera is strongly recommended\, but if you only have a sophisticated point-and-shoot\, we are happy to have you as well. Just be mindful that some point-and-shoots don’t always let you adjust as many settings. With this in mind\, please check in with us if you have something different so our Instructor can see what kind of digital camera you have before the workshop starts.\n\n\n\n\n\nOther Things To Know\n\n\n\nCancellation\n\n\nDue to the small size of our classes and the planning required\, we are not able to issue refunds for missed classes. Kate will open each meetup with an optional: \n\n\n\nWarm-up exercise to let go of the week\nSurprise art material to jump start your creativity\nJuicy prompt you can sink your teeth into\nIdeas for how to extend your art-making at home\nA mult-step approach that allows you to choose your level of guidance\n\n\n\nIn previous months\, we’ve done things like mystery boxes\, black and white (ink and salt and pepper)\, bedazzled resin futuristic jewelry\, circular weaving\, tiny clay food\, and much more. \nAre you ready to build friendships and community through art\, discussion\, making\, and experimentation? No experience necessary – just the willingness to get out of the house\, open your mind\, and have some fun. \nThis semester\, we’ll play with pop-up art\, iron-on wall fabric\, mosaics\, upcycling\, and take-home prompts to continue arting at home. Each class is a unique medium and has a prompt to get your creativity flowing. \nHear what participants said last semester: \n“I consider this ‘art therapy.’ It lets me step away from my life for a bit and be creative.” \n“Kate is the best – a calm\, kind teacher who guides when needed and also supports each student’s ideas and goals.” \n“Thanks for being low-pressure but encouraging.” \nYou also have the option to bring your own projects and stay accountable to investing in your art. DESCRIPTION:Teens and Adults Welcome! \nLive figure drawing meets killer playlist. A unique life drawing experience featuring models ranging from burlesque performers to professional life models\, in both costume and nude. \nBYO supplies. We do have drawing boards\, easels\, and basic drawing supplies available if you need them. Feel free to bring a snack or a drink to enjoy during the session. \nSketch Nights always start with some short warmups\, then 5-10 minute sessions\, and end with 20-minute drawing sessions as the model moves through a variety of poses. \nNew Monthly Schedule for 2026: \n\n\n\nSecond Thursdays – Themed costume sessions with creative concepts (Jan-December)\nFourth Thursdays – Dedicated nude figure drawing (January\, March\, May\, September)\n\n\n\n  \n2026 Themes to Inspire You: \nFrom “Winter Luxe” fur coats and vintage ski wear in January to “Steampunk” adventures in November\, we’ve curated twelve unique themes\, including Valentine’s Romance\, Navy Nautical\, Afrofuturism\, Gothic Halloween\, and Holiday Elegance.
