We are about to embark upon an ambitious chapter in both What’s Up? Media’s and Women’s History. For the entirety of the year 2020, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of women earning the right to vote; how women earned their voice in how our cities, counties, state, and country are shaped. We are calling this celebratory endeavor the “Year of the Woman.”
What’s Up? Media will be publishing the many stories of how women’s suffrage, voting rights, and empowerment came to fruition, molded our society, and continue to evolve today and into the future.
What’s Up? Media invites our family of writers, as well as any interested and qualified writer/journalist, to an informal discussion and planning session to brainstorm and solidify the range of ideas, articles, and digital media we intend to assign and publish during this year-long content campaign; 12 monthly issues of What’s Up? Annapolis and What’s Up? Eastern Shore, and the seven issues of What’s Up? West County will feature these articles.
Consider this not only a writer’s forum, but also a planning committee which will meet at What’s Up? Media’s offices in the coming weeks.
Please RSVP your interest in participating directly to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Writers Committee.” For writers we haven’t met yet, please include a brief explanation about your writing experience and three writing samples. RSVPs will be vetted and subsequent invitation confirmations will be sent to qualified writers.
