Presented by Jo Fleming Contemporary Art
Dates: November 3, 2023 - December 30, 2023 at 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm“Wabi Sabi” Exhibition draws from the Japanese aesthetic concept that appreciates the beauty found in nature, imperfection, transience, and the natural cycles of growth and decay. All of the featured artists challenge conventional notions of aesthetics.
Rusted and patinated objects by Brian Kirk and wall sculpture by John Latell offer character that emerges as things age and deteriorate.
Nada Abizaid shares her appreciation for nature’s organic and ever-changing state by creating minimal sculptural nature-inspired glazed stoneware forms of muted earthy color and texture.
Sally Rhudy‘s recent artworks explore ancestry and time through rich layered multimedia paintings with a contemporary abstract perspective.
Jo Fleming‘s mixed media landscape paintings offer subdued chromatic effects of changing weather and light.
You are invited to the Opening Reception where the featured artists will discuss their work and inspiration on November 18, 2023, 5-7 pm.
Note: During the “Wabi Sabi” exhibition we will integrate our annual December “Art For Gifting” event in a new format.
