Sylvia: Auditions by appointment: Equity/Non-Equity all roles PAID.
Compass Rose Theater, a small, award-winning, professional theater company in Annapolis, MD is producing Sylvia by A.R. Gurney. 4 actors are needed (one actor is triple cast). Auditions: July 19-20 (5-9 pm). The show runs Sept. 29 – Oct. 29, Friday-Saturday evenings, Sunday matinees, and possible add-on shows Thursday nights or Saturday matinees. Director Estelle Miller, diverse casting.
Roles: Sylvia (18 – 25) – Graceful comedic female appearing as in-charge, human-loving dog. Agile and physical abilities to move around the stage in different dog postures. Greg (50-60) – Husband going through a mid-life crisis. Kate (47-50) Loving wife, career-oriented, empty-nester. Tom/Phyllis/Leslie (40-50) Tom has an intellectual understanding of the midlife crisis. Phyliss, a close friend of Kate, pleasant, and understanding. Leslie, nonbinary, marriage counselor.
