This exhibition showcases a collection of thoughtfully designed functional pottery that balances elegance with simplicity. Each piece is made to be held and used, with careful attention to form, weight, and pattern that invites comfort and ease. Ascher’s love of glazing shines through in contrasting textures and clean lines that spark curiosity and draw the eye. The “lifted lines” in the work, both visual and tactile, highlight the relationship between surface and form, guiding the hand as much as the eye. Areas of exposed clay beside smooth glazes create a quiet tension, encouraging intimate interaction and offering moments of rest. The exhibition celebrates the quiet joy found in well-made, beautifully considered objects.
This exhibition will be on display from November 15, 2025, to January 7, 2026, in our Patricia Barland Gallery at Chesapeake Arts Center. Join Cami for her open studio sale in her 3rd-floor studio on Dec 6, 2025, from 10 am-4 pm!
