The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943)
Winston Churchill tried to stop the production of this film, made at the height of WWII. Filmed in rich technicolor, featuring stand out performances, the film chronicles the personal and professional journey of a British officer–from the early years of the 20th century through WWII.
