NEON Brings the Chaos: NIRVANNA the band, the
show, the movie Screens in Annapolis

The Annapolis Film Society is thrilled to announce a
special screening of NEON’s wildly inventive new film, NIRVANNA the band, the show, the
movie, from acclaimed filmmakers Matt Johnson (BLACKBERRY) and Jay McCarrol, on
Thursday, January 15, 2026.

The screening will take place at the Goldstein Cunitz Film & New Media Center at Maryland
Hall. Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the film starting promptly at 7:00 PM.
Tickets: $20. Cash-only rush line available at the door if tickets remain
General Admission Seating is first-come, first-served.

About the Film
When their latest harebrained plan to book a show at Toronto’s legendary Rivoli goes
spectacularly off the rails, best friends Matt and Jay accidentally transport themselves back to
2008—setting off a surreal, hilarious, and self-destructive journey through time, ambition, and
artistic obsession.

Blending absurdist comedy, time travel, and DIY punk energy, NIRVANNA the band, the show,
the movie expands the cult-favorite series into a fearless feature that only Matt Johnson could
deliver—chaotic, clever, and completely unpredictable.
