World Artists Experiences (WAE), presents the 15th Annual, 2023 Bridges to the World International Film Festival. The FIRST of the five weekly films is “Mr.Kaplan”. The selection from Uruguay, Mr. Kaplan (2014), was written and directed by Álvaro Brechner. The film will be introduced by Minister Maria Fernando Garcia, and followed by discussion.
A dark and cynical comedy-thriller, Mr. Kaplan tells the story about an elderly Jewish man’s investigation hoping to prove an elderly German beach-goer was a concentration camp Nazi. Mr. Kaplan won seven Uruguayan Film Critics Association awards, including Best Actress, Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.
