DESCRIPTION:Antonín Dvořák In Nature’s Realm\, Op. 91\nJennifer Higdon Cello Concerto\,\nwith Julian Schwarz\, cello\nManuel de Falla El sombrero de tres picos (The Three-Cornered Hat) \nThis concert is approximately 2 hours in length\, with a 20 minute intermission. \nFrom the sunlit beauty of Bohemia to the fiery rhythms of Spain\, this concert bursts with color and energy. Antonín Dvořák’s In Nature’s Realm opens the performance with radiant melodies inspired by the natural world. Cellist Julian Schwarz returns to perform the vivid Cello Concerto by Jennifer Higdon\, one of the most successful and prolific contemporary composers in the United States today. The concert ends in a blaze of dance and celebration with Manuel de Falla’s El sombrero de tres picos (The Three-Cornered Hat). Dancers Erin Jenkins and Collin from Ballet Theatre of Maryland will join us to bring the dances to life on stage. Soprano Judy Yannini will perform from offstage during the Introduction and The Miller’s Dance movements.
