SUMMARY:Classic Theatre of Maryland presents "HAMLET"
DESCRIPTION:Experience the play that has captivated audiences for over four centuries as Classic Theatre of Maryland opens its season with Shakespeare’s greatest masterpiece. Set within the intrigue of the royal court of Denmark\, Hamlet follows a young prince haunted by his father’s ghost and driven to uncover the truth behind a shocking betrayal. As loyalty gives way to deception and revenge blurs the line between justice and obsession\, Hamlet must confront impossible choices that will determine the fate of a kingdom. \nFilled with unforgettable characters\, breathtaking drama\, razor-sharp wit\, and some of the most celebrated language ever written\, Hamlet is a thrilling theatrical event that explores ambition\, morality\, family\, and the enduring question of what it means to be human. Timeless\, profoundly relevant\, and universally resonant\, this extraordinary masterpiece continues to captivate each new generation\, proving that Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy speaks as powerfully today as it did over 400 years ago.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Healing Bags with Vintage Fabrics
DESCRIPTION:Making A Healing Bag Workshop: Carrying Our Stories \nwith Artist Felicia L. Reed \nInspired by All That She Carried by Tiya Miles\, this intimate fiber art workshop explores the ancestral tradition of carrying a bag—not simply for what we need\, but for what we value\, remember\, protect\, and pass forward. \nAward-winning fiber artist Felicia L. Reed will guide participants in creating a one-of-a-kind Healing Bag from vintage and repurposed fabric pieces\, trims\, and embellishments. \nThrough gentle coaching\, storytelling\, and creative guidance\, participants will consider: What do I carry? What am I ready to release? What do I want to carry forward? \nNo advanced art or sewing experience is required. Each participant will leave with a personal\, functional work of art—a vessel for memory\, intention\, healing\, and connection to those who carried before us. \nWe carry bags. We carry stories. We carry each other forward.

SUMMARY:A Concert for Peace
DESCRIPTION:Live Arts Maryland opens the season with music that explores peace\, compassion\, and our shared humanity. Karl Jenkins composed The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace as a response to the tragedies of war\, creating one of the most compelling choral works of the past quarter century. Blending the traditional Mass with poetry and texts from many cultures and faiths\, the work traces a journey from conflict to hope and reconciliation. \n \nThe program is complemented by Frank Ticheli’s Earthsong\, a heartfelt call to care for one another and the world we share; Edward Elgar’s poignant Sospiri\, a quiet meditation on loss and remembrance; and Kim André Arnesen’s Do Not Neglect to Show Hospitality\, a moving reminder of the importance of kindness and compassion. Together\, these works invite us to reflect on the values that unite us and the enduring hope for peace.
