SUMMARY:Student Auditions Open for A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is Shakespeare at his most playfully chaotic. Four young lovers wander into the woods\, where a group of fairies—who really should not be in charge of anything—decide to intervene in their relationships. Thanks to one well-meaning but unreliable sprite\, everyone ends up briefly in love with the wrong person. Meanwhile\, a troupe of very sincere (and very untalented) actors attempts to stage a play. \nBy morning\, things are mostly sorted out\, dignity is lightly bruised\, and the whole experience feels a bit like a dream no one can quite explain. \nThis interactive\, fun\, outdoor production will be staged at Historic London Town & Gardens in Edgewater\, MD\, produced in partnership with Compass Rose Theater. Students ages 10-18 are encouraged to apply!

SUMMARY:The Temple of Our Survival: Alisha B. Wormsley Installation\, Performance & Conversation
DESCRIPTION:As the nation marks 250 years since its founding\, we are called to ask: whose survival made this nation possible? Join artist Alisha B. Wormsley for a special activation of The Temple of Our Survival (Children of NAN: A Survival Guide)—a mobile cinematic altar and gathering space dedicated to Black femme survival\, care\, and reMatriation. Presented in collaboration with artist Tsedaye Makonnen and harpist Megan-Joie Coleman\, this immersive event brings together ritual\, sound\, and collective storytelling as an act of historical reckoning and remembrance. \nThe program will feature a live ritual performance honoring Black femme survival\, including a guided group dreaming meditation and opportunities for audience members to participate by reading their own survival stories alongside those of historical Black femmes from Maryland and beyond — centering voices that the official record of nationhood too often left out. \nThe event will conclude with a panel conversation on the project and the ongoing practices of Black femme survival\, moderated by curator Martina Dodd\, exploring what it means to commemorate 250 years through the lens of those who were never meant to survive it — and did.

SUMMARY:Queer Annapolis: A Historical Walking Tour of Love\, Resistance\, and Community
DESCRIPTION:Long before the Stonewall Uprising\, and far beyond New York and California\, queer people have lived\, loved\, and shaped American history. From the nation’s earliest days\, LGBTQ+ individuals have been part of Maryland’s story\, even when their lives were pushed into the shadows. This guided walking tour explores over three hundred years of LGBTQ+ history\, pairing familiar landmarks with often-overlooked stories: from a Revolutionary War general to an African American schoolteacher. Join historian Dr. Chris Mielke as we honor those who challenged norms\, built community\, and were brave enough to be themselves. \nThe tour will begin at The People’s Park at 44 Calvert Street and end at the Museum of Historic Annapolis at 99 Main Street. At the conclusion of the tour\, a small reception will be held at the Museum\, featuring light refreshments and an opportunity to continue the conversation. \nPlease wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather\, as the tour is held rain or shine. The tour route is approximately 1.25 miles long and includes elevation changes and uneven walking surfaces. \nAdvance registration required; space is limited. Recommended for ages 13+.

SUMMARY:The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)
DESCRIPTION:The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)\nWritten by Adam Long\, Daniel Singer\, and Jess Winfield \nDirected by Robin Schwartz \nTickets: www.ptcshows.org \nPerformance Dates at Live Arts Studio\, Annapolis Mall: \nFriday\, June 5- 7:00pm \nSunday\, June 7- 1:00pm and 4:00pm \nSaturday\, June 13- 4:00pm and 7:00pm \nSunday\, June 14- 1:00pm and 4:00pm \nSPECIAL PRESENTATION: Saturday\, June 6\, at 1:00pm\, Outdoor “Shakespeare in Severna Park”\, Woods Amphitheater \nThe Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) is a wildly fast-paced comedy that takes on all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays—plus the sonnets—in a single\, uproarious performance*. Using only a handful of actors and maximum imagination\, the show barrels through the tragedies\, comedies\, and histories with gleeful chaos. Equal parts parody and love letter to Shakespeare\, the play celebrates the Bard by making his works accessible and irresistibly fun for actors and audiences alike. \n*This production includes occasional mature humor\, suggestive language\, and playful irreverence toward classic texts. Viewers should be comfortable with comedic material that may include sexual innuendo\, strong language\, and staged violence/gore. \n  \n$20.00 General Admission Price \nApproximately 2 hours\, exact runtime TBD \n  \nPresenting Our Troupe: \nBrendan Cuddihee \nCrista Drysdale \nAmanda Matousek \nRichard Miller \nJonathan Monroe \nJason Vaughan \npasadenatheatrecompany@gmail.com \n443-274-7743

We are reflecting on the masks we wear when we navigate a world of uncertainty and tension. The variety of the work that is emerging is thought provoking and visually compelling.
