SUMMARY:CP presents spring musical: City of Angels
DESCRIPTION:Book by Larry Gelbart\, Music by Cy Coleman\, Lyrics by David Zippel \nDirected by Beth Terranova\, Music Directed by Michelle Bruno \nPerformances are Thurs-Sat at 8:00pm\, Sun at 2pm \nA smart and stylish film noir musical. In the late 1940s\, Stine\, a bookish writer of detective stories\, struggles to adapt his crime novel into a workable screenplay. As Stine tries to maintain some integrity in the backstabbing world of Hollywood\, his protagonist\, a hardboiled private eye named Stone\, fights for survival in a city full of criminals and opportunists. With wit\, humor\, and a fantastic Cy Coleman score\, City of Angels captures the snappy dialogue of a Raymond Chandler novel and the glitzy showmanship of classic Hollywood; the result is a crowd-pleasing musical unlike any other. \nPlease Note: Contains stylized violence\, sexual innuendo\, infidelity\, and period-specific sexism and racism. Contains strong language.

SUMMARY:Homeschool Day at Hogshead
DESCRIPTION:Historic Annapolis warmly welcomes homeschoolers to join us for a special day of hands-on learning. \nStep back in time at Hogshead Trades Museum\, a unique dwelling on historic Pinkney Street\, and learn how working-class people lived in Annapolis during the Revolutionary era. During this interactive experience\, students will be led by guides in colonial attire and have the opportunity to interact with reproduction artifacts as they try their hand at skills of the past. Students will discover why trades were critical to the early American economy and how craft persons developed their skills. Students will also have the opportunity to create their own colonial business!

SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Abjection and Alienation: Video Works of Martha Rosler and Pipilotti Rist (in the Videodrome)
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition presents two video works: “Vital Statistics of a Citizen\, Simply Obtained” (1977) by New York-based Martha Rosler\, and “Blutclip” (1993) by Zürich-based Pipilotti Rist. Both notably explore the lives of women\, challenge societal treatment of their bodies\, and critique political structures of injustice. Through seeing their work in communion\, we might better understand what it feels like to be separated from a sense of humanity and\, by contrast\, what it could mean to become whole again. \nAdmission\, Parking\, & Accessibility \nThe event is free. Complimentary parking is available in both the Edensword and Mellon Parking Lots off of St. John’s Street. Accessibility parking spots can be found in the Edensword Lot. \nImage: Courtesy of /m
