A natural progression from the beginning primary levels with strong emphasis on correct body placement\, technique\, and musicality. Along with classical ballet\, RAD introduces two important additional styles at this level: Character work\, which helps develop timing and rhythm; and Free Movement\, which helps to develop poise\, musicality\, and sensitivity to music. Previous ballet training not required. \nContinuing through the Winter/Spring session (Jan- May) provides two additional opportunities:\nStudents could be invited to participate in our Royal Academy of Dance Class Awards mid-spring\, at the discretion of staff.\nAll students are invited to perform in our Annual Spring Recital in May. DESCRIPTION:Thursdays\, 9/17/26-12/17/26\, 7:30-9:00pm\, Room 102\, Price: $322.92 (TFA26ABS73) \nAges 14+ If a student is new to our program\, please contact us prior to registration to discuss placement. This is the second level of the Royal Academy of Dance Higher Grade Syllabus work. These levels require a higher standard of artistry and technical ability and include Character work and Free Movement. Students are required to take a minimum of three classes a week to remain in this level. \nStudents may participate in our annual mini-Nutcracker in December.\nContinuing through the Winter/Spring session (Jan- May) provides two additional opportunities:\nStudents could be invited to participate in our Royal Academy of Dance Exams mid-spring\, at the discretion of staff.\nAll students are invited to perform in our Annual Spring Recital in May. Exams and Recital participation will require additional fees. Academy Ballet does not guarantee make-up classes for weather-related closures. \nDress Code – Girls: Royal Academy of Dance Leotard TBA\, pink or skin tone-matched tights\, leather or canvas ballet shoes\, and pointe shoes. Pointe shoes should be fitted at a dance store and approved by your instructor prior to sewing. Boys: White t-shirt\, navy or black shorts\, white or black socks\, and matching white or black ballet shoes. This is the fourth level of the Royal Academy of Dance Vocational classwork. The Vocational levels require a higher standard of technical ability\, and pointework for girls is examined. Students are required to take a minimum of three classes a week to remain in this level; both Discovering Repertoire and Advanced 1 level syllabus is taught.
