SUMMARY:The Nutcracker
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the holiday season with The Nutcracker! Annapolis’s favorite holiday tradition\, performed by the Ballet Theatre of Maryland. \nArtistic Director Nicole Kelsch’s fresh take on a classic returns this season in The Nutcracker. As always\, this magical holiday tradition is filled with exuberant dance\, beloved characters\, and timeless music that delights audiences of all ages—now with an Annapolis twist! \nInfused with historical detail and regional charm\, BTM’s Nutcracker transports audiences to 19th-century Annapolis. Clara’s nutcracker isn’t just any gift: this German nutcracker doll is now an heirloom steeped in family history. From the exciting naval battle between the Nutcracker and the Rat King to delicate crabs and oysters that welcome Clara into the glittering Kingdom of Confections\, this production is locally resonant and perfect for the whole family. \nAudiences love the shimmering snowfall in the Kingdom of Snowflakes and the colorful confections—Caramel\, Popcorn\, Peppermint\, and more—that dance to Clara’s delight. Join us for a Nutcracker that celebrates the childlike wonder that we carry with us year after year. \n*Get the most out of your experience by planning your visit to take pictures with your favorite characters and enjoy light refreshments one hour before each Sunday performance at Maryland Hall! Purchase your add-on ticket during checkout.

SUMMARY:Woven Folk Stool: Handtools and Hickory Bark
DESCRIPTION:Monday and Tuesday\, 11/23/26 – 11/24/26\, 9am-5pm\, Price: $720.00 (TFA26LL01) \nBuild and weave your own stool in the Appalachian folk tradition. In this two-day class\, we will start with a red oak log\, recycled from an urban tree in Annapolis’s Historic District\, and end by weaving the seat out with hickory bark from the Shenandoah Valley. Hickory bark is a traditional Appalachian weaving material– it has a lot of character\, and it is more durable than modern weaving materials (e.g. rattan\, danish cord\, shaker tape). You will take your woven stool home at the end of class\, and the skills you learn will enable you to turn firewood into stools in your own backyard! All work will be done with hand tools provided by the instructor. No woodworking experience is required. This class is physically demanding\, but very rewarding. Ages 15+.

SUMMARY:Classic Theatre of Maryland presents "HOLIDAY INN"
DESCRIPTION:A New Holiday Tradition Begins! \nFor years\, audiences have made Classic Theatre of Maryland’s annual holiday production of A Christmas Carol part of their family’s Christmas tradition. This season\, we are delighted to begin an exciting new chapter with the Annapolis premiere of the Broadway musical Holiday Inn. \nInspired by the beloved classic film and featuring the unforgettable music of Irving Berlin\, Holiday Inn follows Jim Hardy as he leaves city life behind to open a charming country inn that celebrates each holiday with spectacular entertainment. Filled with romance\, dazzling dance numbers\, laughter\, and beloved songs—including “White Christmas”—this joyous Broadway musical captures the warmth\, nostalgia\, and magic of the holiday season. \nPerformed in rotating repertory with A Christmas Carol from Black Friday through New Year’s Weekend\, Holiday Inn offers audiences a fresh Broadway experience while continuing the holiday traditions they have come to love at Classic Theatre of Maryland. Whether you choose one production or enjoy both\, you’ll experience two unforgettable celebrations of the season.
