SUMMARY:Maryland Hall Presents BloomHaven: “Road to Baygrass”: The Annapolis Fiddler’s Pick-nic & Bday Bash!
DESCRIPTION:fSponsored in part by Annapolis BayGrass Festival & DC Bluegrass Union \nBloomHaven is Maryland Hall’s summer home—a place where live music\, community\, food\, games\, and summer nights come together on the lawn. This year’s outdoor concert series spans Grateful Dead-inspired jams\, Go-Go\, jazz\, bluegrass\, and folk\, creating four distinct experiences connected by one thing: great music and great company under the summer sky. \nHosted by Sarah Larsen of the Black-Eyed Suzies in celebration of her birthday\, this all-day gathering blends live music\, community\, and the kind of easygoing summer atmosphere BloomHaven is becoming known for. Expect lawn chairs\, dancing\, jam circles\, surprise collaborations\, and plenty of moments that feel straight out of a backyard bluegrass gathering. \nKids 12 and under attend for FREE \nFor more details and ticketing\, visit Marylandhall.org/Bloomhaven

SUMMARY:Pops in the Park at Downs Park
DESCRIPTION:The program\, shaped by the theme of America250\, will feature music the entire family will recognize and enjoy\, including pieces from Broadway and Hollywood and high-energy symphonic hits. Don’t miss a special appearance by Maryland Poet Laureate Lady Brion\, whose work explores history\, identity\, and the shared stories that connect communities. Lady Brion will perform Lincoln Portrait by Aaron Copland\, a work for narrator and orchestra that incorporates parts of President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and includes excerpts from other iconic speeches by Lincoln. She will also perform two of her own poems. Lady Brion will perform at both events. \nAttendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs\, blankets\, family\, and friends. Plan to arrive and park early in order to avoid traffic. Access to the parks is free\, as is parking. Food trucks will be available. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in Anne Arundel County Parks. Well-behaved\, leashed pets are allowed at these events. \nRaffle Registration: A ticket is not required to attend this event.
