SUMMARY:Student Auditions Open for A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is Shakespeare at his most playfully chaotic. Four young lovers wander into the woods\, where a group of fairies—who really should not be in charge of anything—decide to intervene in their relationships. Thanks to one well-meaning but unreliable sprite\, everyone ends up briefly in love with the wrong person. Meanwhile\, a troupe of very sincere (and very untalented) actors attempts to stage a play. \nBy morning\, things are mostly sorted out\, dignity is lightly bruised\, and the whole experience feels a bit like a dream no one can quite explain. \nThis interactive\, fun\, outdoor production will be staged at Historic London Town & Gardens in Edgewater\, MD\, produced in partnership with Compass Rose Theater. Students ages 10-18 are encouraged to apply!

Four young lovers wander into the woods\, where a group of fairies—who really should not be in charge of anything—decide to intervene in their relationships. Thanks to one well-meaning but unreliable sprite\, everyone ends up briefly in love with the wrong person. Meanwhile\, a troupe of very sincere (and very untalented) actors attempts to stage a play. \nBy morning\, things are mostly sorted out\, dignity is lightly bruised\, and the whole experience feels a bit like a dream no one can quite explain. \nThis interactive\, fun\, outdoor production will be staged at Historic London Town & Gardens in Edgewater\, MD\, produced in partnership with Compass Rose Theater. Students ages 10-18 are encouraged to apply!

DESCRIPTION: “Arundel Bands Together 2026” Music Festival Featuring Arundel Alumni and Country Music Artist\, Jackson Dean coming home to support his community. \n       The Arundel community is invited to an exciting day of music\, food\, and family fun at the Arundel Bands Together Music Festival 2026\, taking place May 23\, 2026 at Carroll Field Stadium. \nThis outdoor music festival celebrates the incredible musical talent of Arundel High School alumni and Anne Arundel County musicians while bringing the community together for a day of entertainment and fundraising. The event will feature a special headlining performance by rising country music star and Arundel alumnus Jackson Dean\, who will take the stage at 8:00 PM on Carrol Field Stadium where his performance of the National Anthem went viral. \nThe festival begins at 12:00 PM and will include three stages of live music\, showcasing a wide variety of performers including: \n\nDr. Butts & the Sunset Band\nNuclear Tomb\nElectric Circus\nPerfunctory\nBlue Funk\nPorch Setters Union\nArundel Jazz Greats\nBrendan Lane and the Sugar Packets\nand more….\n\nIn addition to live performances\, attendees can enjoy food trucks\, games\, and activities throughout the day\, making it a family-friendly celebration for music lovers of all ages. \nThe event highlights the strength of the Arundel music community while raising support for student music programs. Organizers hope the festival will become an annual tradition that showcases alumni success and inspires the next generation of musicians.

SUMMARY:Student Auditions Open for A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is Shakespeare at his most playfully chaotic. Four young lovers wander into the woods\, where a group of fairies—who really should not be in charge of anything—decide to intervene in their relationships. Thanks to one well-meaning but unreliable sprite\, everyone ends up briefly in love with the wrong person. Meanwhile\, a troupe of very sincere (and very untalented) actors attempts to stage a play. \nBy morning\, things are mostly sorted out\, dignity is lightly bruised\, and the whole experience feels a bit like a dream no one can quite explain. \nThis interactive\, fun\, outdoor production will be staged at Historic London Town & Gardens in Edgewater\, MD\, produced in partnership with Compass Rose Theater. Students ages 10-18 are encouraged to apply!

Promotional images by: Sarah James Photography. \n\n\n\n\n✨ A Magical\, Intimate Mermaid Experience ✨ \nMeet a real mermaid in a calm\, storybook setting designed just for young children. \nJoin Mermaid Carissa for a one-of-a-kind storytime created especially for preschool and early elementary ages. This is not a crowded party or high-energy event. It is a gentle\, immersive experience where each child is seen\, included\, and part of the magic. \nOnly 5 children are admitted to keep the experience personal and meaningful. \nWhat happens during the experience: \nChildren are welcomed with a short\, gentle playtime from 2:40–3:00 PM\, where they can explore a cozy nursery space and settle in comfortably. \nAt 3:00 PM\, Mermaid Carissa begins a peaceful\, engaging storytime designed to hold attention without overwhelming young guests. \nAfter the story\, each child is invited forward one-by-one for a special wish-making moment. During this time\, each child receives a shell necklace\, makes a magical wish\, and shares a quiet\, personal interaction with the mermaid. \nA dedicated assistant captures each child’s moment during the ceremony\, so families receive keepsake photos at no additional cost. \nEach child also leaves with a small take-home treasure\, including a wrapped surprise gift and a handmade crocheted mermaid tail. \nThis experience is intentionally designed to feel calm\, personal\, and memorable—perfect for children who thrive in smaller\, more meaningful settings.
