In this 4 week class students will learn how to cut glass and create a beautiful\, fused glass ornament\, mosaic dish\, coasters and a holiday suncatcher. DESCRIPTION:Have a digital camera but don’t know how to use it? Want to brush up on your photography skills? Join photographer Kaitlyn McQuaid for “First Exposure\,” a 4-week digital photography workshop covering the foundations of photography. This workshop will run for 2 hours each week\, and we’ll cover one element of photography in-depth\, including Aperture\, ISO\, Shutter Speed\, Lighting\, and Composition. We’ll practice with in-class\, hands-on exercises\, and tips for capturing moments on your own outside of class. \n\nNOTES\n\nYou will receive an email 1 week before class starts with additional information. \n\n\n\nClass Requirements\n\n\n\n\nA digital DSLR camera is strongly recommended\, but if you only have a sophisticated point-and-shoot\, we are happy to have you as well. Just be mindful that some point-and-shoots don’t always let you adjust as many settings. DESCRIPTION:Thursdays\, 12/3/26-12/17/26\, 6:30pm-9:30pm\, Room: 212\, Price: $168 (TFA26JY02) \nLearn the techniques required to capture great night photos of downtown Annapolis! Bundle up as we visit iconic Annapolis locations\, decked out for the holidays. We’ll address how to use exposure modes\, exposure compensation\, white balance and ISO to guarantee great results- while taking photos with shutter speeds up to 30 seconds long. A DSLR or mirrorless camera with the classic P\, A/Av\, S/Tv and M exposure modes is required\, along with a tripod. (I have a few loaner tripods available for use. If needed\, please inquire if one is still available prior to enrolling.) A remote shutter release is not required- we can use the self-timer. Bring your camera and tripod to the first session at Maryland Hall. We’ll meet in downtown Annapolis for the second and third sessions. Students provide their own transportation. Then\, using their stories and examples\, create new\, personal “inspired-by” artwork of our own. You’ll hear a little art history\, maybe a funny anecdote or two\, and get into the “why” behind the work—the stuff that makes it matter. It’s less about technical perfection and more about clarity of message. In the words of Mark Rothko\, “There is no such thing as a good painting about nothing.” No prior experience necessary. All are welcome\, because creativity belongs to everyone and we intend to prove it (while having a lot of fun doing it). DESCRIPTION:Have a digital camera but don’t know how to use it? Want to brush up on your photography skills? Join photographer Kaitlyn McQuaid for “First Exposure\,” a 4-week digital photography workshop covering the foundations of photography. This workshop will run for 2 hours each week\, and we’ll cover one element of photography in-depth\, including Aperture\, ISO\, Shutter Speed\, Lighting\, and Composition. We’ll practice with in-class\, hands-on exercises\, and tips for capturing moments on your own outside of class. \n\nNOTES\n\nYou will receive an email 1 week before class starts with additional information. \n\n\n\nClass Requirements\n\n\n\n\nA digital DSLR camera is strongly recommended\, but if you only have a sophisticated point-and-shoot\, we are happy to have you as well. Just be mindful that some point-and-shoots don’t always let you adjust as many settings. With this in mind\, please check in with us if you have something different so our Instructor can see what kind of digital camera you have before the workshop starts.\n\n\n\n\n\nOther Things To Know\n\n\n\nCancellation\n\n\nDue to the small size of our classes and the planning required\, we are not able to issue refunds for missed classes.
