DESCRIPTION:Have a digital camera you don’t know how to use? Want to brush up on your photography skills? Join photographer Kaitlyn McQuaid for “First Exposure\,” a 4-week digital photography workshop covering the foundations of photography. This workshop will run for 2 hours each week\, and we’ll cover one element of photography in-depth\, including Aperture\, ISO\, Shutter Speed\, Lighting\, and Composition. We’ll practice with in-class\, hands-on exercises\, and tips for capturing moments on your own outside of class. \n\nNotes\n\nYou will receive an email 1 week before class starts with additional information. \n\n\n\nClass Requirements\n\n\n\n\nA digital DSLR camera is strongly recommended but if you only have a sophisticated point and shoot\, we are happy to have you as well. Just be mindful that some of the point and shoots do not always let you adjust as many settings. (WS26CB3) \nUsing pencils\, markers and gouache (opaque watercolor)\, we learn to take our ideas from a line sketch\, to value study\, and finally into color with gouache (opaque watercolor). Emphasis is placed on line and value in the design stages (in grey scale)\, and on learning to explore various ideas before choosing one to work out in gouache (color). This class can be taken more than once building on previous knowledge. It can also be taken as a one off. No pre-requisites are required.
