SUMMARY:Co-op: Portrait Studio - Friday Mornings
DESCRIPTION:Fridays\, 9/18/26-12/11/26\, 9:30am-12:30pm\, Room: 214\, Price: $124.20 (TFA26COP03) \nThe Friday morning Portrait Co-op offers the opportunity to work from life in a relaxed\,\ncollegial atmosphere. Models include professionals as well as those new\nto posing for portraiture. Easels\, workbenches and tables are provided. Co-op members\nwith various levels of artistic background bring drawing or painting materials of their\nchoice to work independently at their own pace\, without instruction. A modest $10\nmodel fee is collected at each three-hour session. If work-space permits\, those enrolled\nin any of the three drawing and painting Co-ops (Wednesday morning figure\, Thursday\nevening figure\, Friday morning portrait) are welcome to attend the other two studio Co-\nops\, paying the model fee for sessions they attend. Optionally accompanied by a participating adult\, this class is an introduction to ballet movement\, listening\, and storytelling. The class will include a warmup\, basic coordination exercises\, and creative movement through practice of rhythm and imaginative sequences. \nWinter/Spring session (Jan-May) continues on the same schedule and concludes with an optional recital. A natural progression from Classical Ballet 3 with greater emphasis on ballet alignment and performance quality\, with continued work in character and free movement technique. More specific strength training for pointe work. Two to three years of ballet training necessary. \nStudents may participate in our annual mini-Nutcracker in December.\nContinuing through the Winter/Spring session (Jan- May) provides two additional opportunities:\nStudents could be invited to participate in our Royal Academy of Dance Exams mid-spring\, at the discretion of staff.\nAll students are invited to perform in our Annual Spring Recital in May. This is the second level of the Royal Academy of Dance Vocational classwork\, and a prerequisite for entering into Advanced Level examinations. The Vocational levels require a higher standard of technical ability\, and pointework is now examined.
