About the Artist:
Since 2006, New Moon Theater has been presenting theater and opera for kids and families throughout the Mid-Atlantic, performing in libraries, schools, summer camps, arts centers and museums. New Moon Theater is a creative partner with Port Discovery Children's Museum.

Founder Julie Kurzava adapts her favorite folk tales from around the world in a scaled down, informal and intimate setting, perfect for livestreaming. Julie’s infectious style instantly engages her audience, with lots of participation, singing, puppets, and general merrymaking.

Konnichiwa! Minwa, Japanese Folktales is one of New Moon Theater’s most requested productions. Part of our commitment to cultural diversity through worldwide folklore, these traditional tales highlight our shared values of kindness, generosity, acceptance and responsibility for our communities. Minwa is presented in a style sure to engage people of all ages, with lots of audience participation, two large puppets, one epic battle and a sprinkling of Japanese.
