    • Hit the Road Jack! ASSEMBLY:

      Description:

      Students will discover the world of jazz singing and touring through an interactive performance by former Ray Charles Raelette, Renée Collins Georges and the Kidz MusiQ Club Jazz Ensemble! They will explore the genre of American music known as jazz, its history and hear music by jazz giants. Improvisation, “scat singing” and elements of music are demonstrated through song. Travel with Renee on the Choo-Choo Cha-Cha, through her original song. Parents, and kids will dance to the beat and freeze when cued. Last, share the stage and jam with Renée and the ensemble in a lyrical adaptation of Hit the Road, Jack! You'll will leave the interactive assembly with a suitcase packed with knowledge and skills.
      Designed to engage, educate and entertain.

      Program can be done live, or pre-recorded as a virtual program in 15, 20, 30, or 45 minute time frames, with the artist and a trio of musicians, or by the artist in a theater/studio setting, complete with visuals.

      Programs can be adapted for the classroom/student age. Program fees are negotiable.

    • Hit the Road Jack and Learn to Scat! RESIDENCY:

      Description:

      Students discover the world of jazz singing and touring, as well as explore jazz music and an improvisational language skill called “scatting” (bop-bop be-bop)! They will learn to sing a jazz melody and take on the social issue of bullying and adversity through our lyrical adaptation of the song, Hit the Road, Jack! Through creativity, collaboration and an analysis, they will showcase knowledge and skills for their peers. Designed to engage, educate and foster an appreciation for the American genre of music known as jazz.

      Program can be done live, or pre-recorded as a virtual program in 15, 20, 30, or 45 minute time frames, with the artist and a trio of musicians, or by the artist in a theater/studio setting, complete with visuals.

      Programs can be adapted for the classroom/student age. Program fees are negotiable.

    • WORKSHOP:

      Description:

      Sing and swing as you learn about jazz music, its influence and its many contributors to animation, film, TV and cartoons and the new media craze… gaming. Journey through time as you listen to compositions from the early days of television and cinema. Sing popular theme songs in group and team settings. Improve reading, confidence, articulation and projection. Gain knowledge and an appreciation of jazz music in media through our music trivia game of "Jazz Jeopardy!” All ages; Great for families!
